Polish Register of Shipping Joint Stock Company is an independent clasifying institution with years of tradition on Polish seafaring market, working for the safety especially on the sea and protection of the sea environment especially from the ships' pollution; it defines standards of the safety on the sea and controls/supports its inculcating.

Apart from the clasifying activities, on the power of attorney from the governments, including the Govenment of the Republic of Poland, PRS controls whether the ships fulfill the requirements of the conventions accepted by these governments.

Years of controling experience in the matter of shipping are used by PRS during industrial controls, including technological installations, pipelines installations, wharfes, bridges and speedways builds.

PRS gives out certificates according the systems of quality management, environment protection management, safety and work hygiene and the systems of food health safety.
