A  test for WE type is a procedure during which suitable organs of control state and confirm that ¦OI design fulfills suitable requirements of given directive.

The notified controlling organ makes a test for WE type according to the procedure below:

* Testing the producer's technical documentation:

- checking the producer's technical documentation for testing its suitability according to the harmonized norms defined in article 5;

- in the cases when the producer have not used the harmonized norms, have used them only partialy or there is no such norms, the notified organ checks the suitability of the technical specifications according to the basic requirements before checking the producer's technical documentation for establishing its suitability according to these technical specifications.

* Design testing:

- while testing the design, the controlling organ checks whether it is produced according to the producer's technical documentation and whether it can be used safely, according to its destiny;

- in the cases when the producer have not used the harmonized norms, have used them only partialy or there is no such norms, the notified organ makes an investigation and suitable tests for checking the design's accordance with the producer's technical specifications, with a reservation of its suitability according to this basic requirements.

If the design fulfills suitable requirements, a controlling organ gives out a certificate of a test for WE type and informs a mover about it. A certificate includes the testing results and information about the conditions for receiving it, including pictures and description necessary for identifying the approved design.
