kayaking

A water sports discipline, including kayak and canoe races. We distinguish  classical kayaking on racecourses,  from 500 to 1000 metres long, and mountain kayaking, including slalom and run; as a sport, kayaking starts to develop at the end of the 19th century in the world and  after 1920 in Poland; introduced as an olimpic discipline in 1936; similar disciplines are kayak sailing and kayak ball;  touristic kayaking is a very popular leisure and its most important feast on an international level in Poland is the Dunajec  Flow, organised since 1934.
